E-xhibition Maribor Theatre Festival 2014

For the third consecutive year, the Slovenian Theatre Institute (SLOGI), the Maribor Theatre Festival and the Novi ZATO. Institute in collaboration with Prodok teater TV, Slovenian theatres and other cultural and educational institutions have together prepared the e-xhibition Maribor Theatre Festival. Through such virtual exhibitions, we provide for digitalised content, user-friendly accessibility and the popularisation of the Slovenian theatre heritage.

Like the previous virtual exhibitions, this year’s is conceived in three clusters:

• The first, more general, cluster features approximately 50 photographs of the final event of the 2014 Maribor Theatre Festival and of the round table discussions following the performances. The accompanying text includes links to the explanations for the awards and short Internet presentations of all the awarded artists and productions. Under the "panel” there are links to the Festival almanac, the TV broadcasting of the final event, short audio-visual presentations of the participants, radio and TV reports on the festival, etc.
• The second cluster is dedicated to the best production of last year’s festival, the winner of the Grand Prix of the Maribor Theatre Festival -– Rudi Šeligo’s The Wedding performed by the ensemble of the Slovene National Theatre Drama Ljubljana. It includes 50 photographs by Peter Uhan, costume designs by Belinda Radulović, stage sketches by Branko Hojnik, the video clip by Tone Stojko, the poster and the cover page of the performance programme by Danijela Grgić, the text by the dramaturg of the performance Eva Kraševec and a selection of the performance reviews ...
• The third and most extensive cluster is dedicated to the theatre opus of Vlado Novak, the recipient of the Borštnik Ring Award 2014. We present his most prominent theatrical creations on the stage of the Drama of the Slovene National Theatre Maribor and other stages with approximately 150 photographs and a dozen recordings (excerpts from performances). The accompanying text includes the jury’s explanation for the award, Internet links to an interview with the actor, a Wiki presentation, the list of his roles, etc.

The e-xhibition Maribor Theatre Festival 2014 is available in Slovenian and English. In time, the presented material will become part of the European digital library, Europeana.

The e-xhibition will be available as of 21 October 2015 on the web portal sigledal.org and on the websites of the participating institutions.
