Class Enemy, the cult production of the generation of the 1980s directed by Vito Taufer in 1982, has virtually transformed the Lower Stage of the Mladinsko Theatre into a battlefield and echoed still for a long time in the heads of spectators. Thirty years later it is being re-/de-/constructed – a sort of returning to the crime site. The production explores the significance and the symbolic potential of class enemies in all senses and the embodiments of that syntagm. The central question is:
Under what conditions and with what possible effects and long-term consequences might violence be the generator of structural changes in a society permeated with apathy and a total lack of initiative? Who is the class enemy today? Who are our exploiters?
