Nobody would have thought that one day Yvonne would become a princess. Maybe not even herself. But nobody knows what Yvonne is actually thinking. Because she doesn’t speak. The day Prince Philippe discovers Yvonne on his Sunday stroll, he takes her straight away back to court as his fiancée – not only to the horror of his royal parents’. However they treat Yvonne, everything – politeness, hatred, and intimidation – deflects off her. And when Yvonne seems to fall in love with Prince Philipe, the royal court panics … An ingenious grotesque about how thin the lacquer of civilisation may be – and how narrow the line is between normality and insanity.
