The Menagerie was inspired by the closing scenes from Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie. The viewers are witness to a family dinner thatis both crippled and sustained by the imminent arrival of a long-expectedguest. The banal, everyday conversations reveal profound emotions whichthe characters either do not want to confront or are not capable of confronting.The question that transpires through these often-heard conversations iswhether we are still capable of venturing into the world of emotions amidstthe breakdown of interpersonal relations - in theatre much as in real life.
