"The girl has managed to escape her kidnapper!
She lived in a cellar without food and light!
Finally free!
After exactly 10 years.
You will never find out what really happened behind those walls.”
What a cliché. A cliché to its tiniest detail. Everything except the relationship. Everything except feelings. During her ten years of isolation, the girl establishes her world from scratch. In the vacated world of her new windowless room time becomes an insignificant category. He protects her from the world that has become a hellish place. He protects his chosen girl from pain, loss, disappointment and the senselessness of the world by closing her in. What happens with feelings if we are deprived of experiencing the world? Fantasy, dependence, separation, an even greater pain.
